pat Williams
Founder
South High School, Head Varsity Boys Coach
Coach Patrick Williams is the boy’s basketball coach at South High. He revived the Colonels boys’ basketball program after they struggled for about a decade. Coach Williams led the Colonels to fourteen districts tournament-birth before leading the Colonels to the district finals in 2005.Under Coach Williams, Colonels have 8 Inter-High titles and 2019 and 2020 Worcester Telegram City Championship. The Colonels won 7 Holiday tournaments from 2005, 2006, 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. During the 2018-2019 seasons, Coach Williams won his 200th game as head coach and is a product of Worcester Public Schools, graduated from Burncoat Senior High, where he played Basketball, Football, and ran Track for the Patriots. He was later the captain of Fitchburg State College men’s basketball team where he was nominated 1st team All-Conference. Coach Williams graduated from Fitchburg State College where he received his degree in Communications/ Media. Coach Williams is currently the Television Broadcasting teacher at South High.
Sean lynch
Worcester Tech. High School, Head Varsity Boys Coach
Coach Sean Lynch has been the boys' varsity basketball coach at Worcester Technical High School since 2007. During his 13 seasons as the head coach at Worcester Tech., the Eagles have made it to the district play-offs twelve out of the thirteen seasons. In 2019, Worcester Tech. won the Division 4 State Championship. In both the 2019 and 2020 season, he led the team to win the Massachusetts State Vocational Tournament Large School Division Championship. In 2019, Lynch was voted by the M.B.C.A. as the Division 4 Central Massachusetts Coach of the Year. Prior to coaching at Worcester Tech., Coach Lynch was the boys’ junior-varsity coach at Worcester North High School for 6 years. In addition to coaching at the high school level, Coach Lynch coached at the middle school level for 6 years. When Lynch is not coaching, he is a Math Teacher and the Head of the Math Department at Worcester Technical High School.
Luis Ojeda
Main South, Head Varsity Boys Coach
Coach Luis Ojeda is a dedicated member of the Worcester community who makes it his purpose to continuously build and develop relationships with people and organizations within the city and surrounding towns to offer programs for the betterment and advancement of the youth he serves.
Coach Ojeda works tirelessly in his current role as a physical education teacher in the Worcester Public Schools (WPS). He’s worked in the WPS for over 16 years, and as a coach and mentor to countless youth in the city. Ojeda’s coaching career spans almost 20 years, and he recently completed his 10th year as the Head Basketball Coach of the Main South Cougars (Claremont Academy and University Park Campus School combined).
Prior to and during his time with the Cougars, Ojeda spent twelve years as the Athletic Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Worcester developing, managing and coordinating several sports programs. He also founded the club’s first AAU basketball program. In 2019 he was the Program Director for Recreation Worcester’s Youth Basketball Program.Ojeda is a founding Director of Worcester Team United (WTU), a boys and girls AAU basketball program. He also volunteers as a board member for Worcester Latino Dollars for Scholars, where his main priority is to raise funds to provide financial scholarships in support of Worcester’s Latino youth pursuing higher education after high school.
Coach Ojeda's accomplishments consist of: Worcester Public Schools Thomas Jefferson Award (2019), Latino Dollars for Scholars Community Achievement Award (2018), Main South - 4 District 4 Final Four appearances (2020, 2014, 2015 and 2010), Colonial Athletic League Champions 2017, 2016 and 2015, Worcester Technical Holiday Classic Tournament Champions 2015, Runner up in the 2015 Worcester Telegram and Gazette Hometeam City Tournament, Worcester County Athletic Conference Champions 2010, National AAU Championship Tournament Appearances 2012, 2013 and 2017; qualifier 2014 and 2015, 6th Grade Massachusetts State Championship - 1st place 2017, and 7th Grade Massachusetts State Championship - 2nd Place 2018.
Brian marvie
South High Community School, Junior Varsity Coach
Coach Brian Marvie is currently the Junior Varsity boys basketball coach at South High Community School. A four year student athlete at South, Brian participated in soccer, track and basketball. In 2006, Brian was selected to the Telegram & Gazette Allstar basketball team.
After graduating from South High in 2006, Brian attended Salem State University, playing four years of basketball and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. As a kid that grew up in the inner-city and attended public schools, it is Brian’s commitment to help other children overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
As the founder and owner of Teach Me Da Game Basketball Academy, Brian provides basketball training and lessons to school-age and high school students. He wants to use the game of basketball and experience as both a player and coach to help kids become better versions of themselves.
From 2016-2019, Brian was one of the creators and executive director of “We Are The Roses." This was a community event that was created with the intent to serve as a platform for budding artists, entrepreneurs, young creatives and business owners to connect and showcase their talents.
JOhanna annunziata
Notre Dame Academy, Head Varsity Girls Coach
Coach Johanna is blessed to give back to the game of basketball that has taught her so much. Coach Johanna has had a ball in her hand since the age of 5. Her hard work, consistency, and dedication led her to two consecutive state championships in High School at the Miller School of Albemarle in Charlottesville, VA. Coach Johanna was the starting point guard for her championship team that brought home the first state championship in school history. Coach Johanna then continued her basketball career playing D-3 at Randolph College in Lynchburg, VA, and transferred and finished her academic and playing career at Framingham State University. She graduated with a bachelors degree in English with a concentration in Secondary Education. She has her masters in Secondary Education from Worcester State.
After her playing career, Coach Johanna traded her sneakers in for a whistle. She started her coaching career in AAU with Chaos and then began coaching at the High School where she teaches English, Nipmuc Regional High School, Upton, MA. She coached the Junior Varsity Girls team for 3 seasons then moved up to the collegiate level, coaching one season at Framingham State. Coach Johanna then took over the varsity program at David Prouty High School where she led the girls team to two appearances in the MIAA play-offs. Before Coach Johanna joined Prouty, they had not made play-offs in over 15 years.
Coach Johanna now coaches at Notre Dame Academy in Worcester, MA. Coach Johanna believes greatly in the mental aspect of the game. Working for Point Guard College, Coach Johanna has adapted her coaching philosophy, making sure her athletes understand it is way bigger than the game. Basketball does not define you. It is a game that teaches you about life and enhances your core values and habits.
The WHY for Coach Johanna is building future female leaders for our world.
John Kottori
Coach Kottori, a graduate of Springfield College '93, started coaching in 1991. A three sport coach at Cathedral HS (Springfield), Coach Kottori spent 6 years in the baseball program. In 1993, he returned to Central Mass serving under Donald Cushing as an Assistant and Head Varsity Coach at Bartlett High School. In 2001, he took over a struggling St. Mary's Boys program with only a J.V. team and in its 3rd year returned to the District Tournament culminating in WCAC Conference Championship. In 2007, he became the Head Girls Varsity Coach winning a WCAC Conference Championship and qualifying for District play over for 4 years.
From 1997-2017 Coach Kottori was the director of the CMAC Hawks AAU program. As a coach from '97 to 2011, his teams appeared in 9 National Championships. Coach Kottori was elected to the NEAAU Boys Basketball Chair in 2006 and held that position until 2017. He was inducted into the NEAAU Hall of Fame in 2013. He was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015.
Since 2001, he has been a teacher at Our Lady of the Angels School in Worcester. He is the computer teacher, librarian, before/after school director, and assistant principal.
